Te Uru Tāngata — Immersive Marae Day

Four distinct authentic experiences on the marae — each one a standalone encounter with Māori culture, refreshments, environment, and knowledge. Available on select Fridays throughout the year. Choose the experience that speaks to you. Marae only activity. 9am to 1.30PM or 3:30pm.

Making Māori bread in a marae kitchen

Module 6 · MB6

Māori Bread Experience

An authentic hands-on cultural workshop learning to create, nurture and cook traditional Māori bread in a marae kitchen. There is something deeply human about making food together. This workshop grounds cultural learning in shared labour, whakapapa, and nourishment.

Relational Engagement for Non-Māori Professionals

Three 90-minute workshops brought together into one full immersive day at the marae. This complete pathway begins with an authentic cultural welcome onto the marae, includes a Māori history lesson, and progresses through all three layers of professional Māori relational readiness. Refreshments provided throughout the day.

Layer 1. For non-Māori professionals building relational and practical confidence to engage respectfully, effectively, and authentically with Māori individuals and communities. The foundation layer — essential before any Māori relational context.

Pōwhiri Readiness — Layer 2

Layer 2 · Duration 90 Minutes

Māori Pōwhiri Readiness for Non-Māori Professionals

Layer 2. For non-Māori professionals proficient in Māori culture, learning how to participate correctly and confidently in pōwhiri across office and marae-based engagement. Protocol, practice, and presence.

Mana Motuhake — Layer 3

Layer 3 · Duration 90 Minutes

Māori Mana Motuhake for Non-Māori Professionals

Layer 3. For board members and senior leaders exploring Māori self-determination and its direct impact on governance, culture, decision-making and ROI. The leadership layer is where cultural confidence meets commercial obligation.
